The  Inspired

Retirement

I am Nathalie Martin, professor, yoga and meditation teacher, and author of several books on mindfulness, yoga, and professional life. I just spent a year traveling the country and talking to people from all walks of life about what brings them happiness and purpose post-career. From cops and waitresses to university presidents, my new data driven book entitled The Inspired Retirement tells their stories so you can chart your own happy and purposeful retirement life.

The Inspired Retirement, due out in 2025, also discusses how to stay happy and healthy as we move into this next stage of life. It provides tips for maintaining physical and mental well-being, dealing with grief, coming to terms with our aging bodies, and refocusing our purpose.

I wrote this book because I found that in both my professional life as an academic, as well as in my mindfulness meditation and yoga teaching, people often struggle with purpose when they leave their primary occupation. Although The Inspired Retirement will be out shortly, the book is only the beginning of this exciting journey.

I want to hear
your stories

In doing this work, I’ve learned, first and foremost, that people want to feel and be heard. I want to hear your stories, what worked for you and what didn’t, what you struggled with and what has given you joy. You can share your story here.

Let me know if you would like me to share your story with others on my blog, either with or without your name.
